Life Skills & Mentorship
Mentorship, career guidance and life skills that build confidence, resilience and self-reliance in the young people we serve.
Resilience.
Self-reliance.
Skills for school, work and life
Technical skills alone are not enough. Young people also need the confidence to set goals, the support to overcome setbacks, and guidance to make good decisions about their education, health and careers.
Mentorship and life skills run through all our programs: our scholarships, STEM clubs and camps, and vocational training. By prioritizing young people without strong support systems, we help them build confident, self-reliant futures.
Our life skills education covers career guidance, sexual and reproductive health, financial literacy, goal setting and leadership.
Skills that last a lifetime
Four ways we guide young people
Mentorship for scholarship students
Our scholarship students receive ongoing mentorship alongside their financial support, helping them stay focused, overcome challenges and plan their next steps.
A wellness retreat brought scholarship recipients and staff together for a day of reflection, mentorship and confidence-building.
Academic Clinic
One-on-one academic coaching, peer-led workshops on study skills and goal setting, and group discussions on academic challenges, ending with a ceremony that recognizes top-performing and most improved students.
The clinic also celebrated our Grade 12 graduates and scholarship recipients.
Career guidance
Students meet role models, university students and professionals, and learn about subject combinations and career pathways at the critical stage of senior school.
Our STEM Education & Mentorship program.
Life skills in every program
Goal setting, financial literacy, leadership and personal health are woven into our STEM clubs and camps, and entrepreneurship and business planning into our vocational training.
Mentorship, life skills and health education reached 3,011 young people across Kisumu and Siaya counties.
Confident, resilient and self-reliant young people, ready to shape their own futures.
